Are you an Android fan? Here is the comparison between iPhone 16 Vs OnePlus 13s with design, display, performance and battery wise.
Introduction
If you are a fan of Android phones, then you definitely want the OnePlus 13s to succeed. OnePlus 13s is the company's attempt to take back some of the market share that the iPhone 16 has captured.
So, I really wanted to find know, Whether the OnePlus 13S is better than the iPhone 16 in the world right now. And of course, We'll discuss about the comparison of OnePlus 13s vs Apple iPhone 16 with an overview concepts.
It's going to be a quick comparison. So, Let's get started.
OnePlus 13s Vs iPhone 16 Design Comparison
It all starts with the design of the OnePlus 13S. It looks more like an iPhone than an actual iPhone really does because you get the same glass and metal slab with flat sides and rounded edges. And yes, you also get a frosted glass back with kind of a satin finish on the rear. Even the Type-C 2.0 port at the bottom is the same.
Since the iPhone 16 has a slightly smaller display and a smaller battery, it's thinner and lighter compared to the OnePlus 13S.
The bigger advantage in the iPhone 16 actually has an IP68 rating whereas the OnePlus 13s has an IP65 rating. iPhone also comes with ceramic shield protection whereas the OnePlus 13s comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
When it comes to scratch resistance, the ceramic shield is not great. Because it scratches much faster than Corning Glass 7i. But the tensile strength is higher. So, when one of these two phones falls, I'm more confident that the iPhone 16 will not break and the OnePlus 13s might shatter.
The OnePlus 13s do come with a pre-applied screen protector within the box itself. And it's not just a screen protector that you get free. You also get a charger for free. You also get a case free. With the iPhone, all you get is just the cable.
You do get some extra buttons with the iPhone 16 and one extra button with OnePlus 13s.
Essentially the alert slider has been swapped out in the OnePlus 13s, instead, you do get the Plus key. This plus key is like the action button that you get with the iPhone.
OnePlus would want you to use the Plus key as an AI button. So that you can create memories and add it to the mind space feature that they've created and then use AI to sort of derive more insights from it.
In iPhone 16, you will get one extra button which is the camera control button, which helps to shoot the pictures.
OnePlus 13s Vs iPhone 16 Display Comparison
OnePlus 13S has a slightly larger display compared to the iPhone 16. Both are OLED panels. But the major advantage with OnePlus is that you get a 120 Hz refresh rate, and it's no ordinary 120 Hz either. It's a proper LTPO panel. So you get refresh rate from 1 Hz to 120 Hz which is huge win for OnePlus. There's another minor win that OnePlus has slimmer bezels and more screen estate compared to the iPhone 16.
iPhone has a brighter display whether you take it outdoors or watch content indoors. The iPhone also has better color accuracy and better HDR gradation. When it comes to the technical nature of the display itself and the quality of display, Apple does it better than OnePlus here.
Now, one thing I must mention, you get an in-display fingerprint scanner with the OnePlus 13s. Android phones use in-display fingerprint scanners. You also do get face recognition, but it's not as advanced as the Face ID that you get with the iPhone 16.
The haptic feedback tuning is much better on the iPhone. It's a little more, intense compared to OnePlus, which feels slightly loose despite it has O haptics. Which is something that I mentioned in my comparison between Xiaomi 15 vs OnePlus 13s blog post. Please have a look.
There's one major advantage with OnePlus and in general with other Android phones, which is you get support for Bluetooth high-risk codecs like LSDC and LDAC. Which the iPhone does not.
OnePlus 13s Vs iPhone 16 Performance Comparison
Now it's time to talk about the performance. With the iPhone 16, what you get is the A18 chip. And it's a very, very powerful chip.
The iPhone 16 is slightly more stable compared to the OnePlus 13S. That's also probably because it doesn't have that kind of throughput.
For Gaming, should you pick the iPhone 16 or OnePlus 13s?
For example: BGMI, COD Mobile or Jed Impact, all of these games are ideally expected to run better than Snapdragon 8 Elite because you have a higher ceiling of GPU throughput. But, with iPhone, what happens is that it's a single chip that devs have to optimize for, the games are better optimized on this.
With the iPhone, you also get AAA titles, which is not available on Android. So, the ecosystem feels more evolved on the iPhone compared to the OnePlus 13S.
Regardless, both are great gaming phones. That's what I want to say.
OnePlus 13s Vs iPhone 16 Battery Comparison
Now, battery life-wise, I think the iPhone 16 has good battery life. The Power is anywhere between 6 to 6 and a half hours of screen time one day of usage.
But with OnePlus, you get about 7 hours of screen time. This is the best battery life compared with other compact flagship phone.
You do get support for fast charging, and 80W charging. It charges faster than the iPhone 16. But, the iPhone 16 is offering wireless charging support.
OnePlus 13s Vs iPhone 16 Camera Comparsion
And with the cameras, both these phones have a dual camera setup on the rear, but they have different configurations. Because with the iPhone, what you get is a primary camera and an ultra wide.
But, with the OnePlus, you get a primary and a 2x telephoto. And of course, both these have selfie cameras as well. Now, the thing is, the iPhone captures more detailed, slightly oversharpened shots.
Since OnePlus has 2x optical zoom, it is better than the in-sensor crop on the iPhone. And it is generally better at Zoom. So whether it's at 2x or 4x, you can see more details and sharper textures.
When comes to the HDR tuning, I prefer OnePlus's HDR tuning. However, the iPhone offers better skin tones whether you're shooting with the primary or the selfie camera. And the portraits look better. Color tuning is largely good on both, but the iPhone offers photographic styles, which is an advantage for granular control over color tuning. But, when it comes to low-light performance, the iPhone is the better camera.
iPhone also has the ultra-wide, which is an added perk. Another big advantage of the iPhone is the video recording quality is better. So, you can shoot 4K 60 fps video with the primary camera, the ultra-wide, and the selfie camera.
with OnePlus 13s you can shoot 4K 60 fps with the primary camera, 4K 60 fps with the 2x telephoto and 4K 30 fps from the front camera. You get Dolby Vision video recording capabilities with the primary camera which is also possible with the iPhone.
OnePlus 13s Vs Apple iPhone 16 Software Comparsion
The final comparison parameter out here is the software experience. I'm going to be picking Oxygen OS 15 over iOS 18. I have some reasons.
So firstly, the smoothness and the speed of animations. Secondly, there are far fewer bugs in Oxygen OS 15 compared to iOS 18.
Yes, OnePlus's live activities are inspired by the iOS version. But it improves. And finally, artificial intelligence or AI. People have barely been compelled to use Apple intelligence features.
But OnePlus has a few nice AI Features up its sleeve.
For example: The new call assistant records calls, creates a summary, and integrates the new AI search to the level where you can ask it questions about a certain conversation you might have had.
So the OnePlus 13S's biggest advantage is the price lower than the iPhone 16. The only real advantage of the iPhone for the extra price that it demands is the camera experience.
